Well despite all efforts to keep Santa love chill: “Morning mom. It’s Thursday. Santa comes tonight. Actually. I think it’s getting darker. Not lighter. It’s time”. Dude. It’s 7am. Merry Christmas Eve
Watching his video message from Santa. Santa tells him that he’s happy he’s been so helpful and kind. Mac whispers to me: But mommy, sometimes I’m NOT. Yes. Yes. This I know. 🤣🤣🤣
Saturdays with Mac. Listening to “All I Want for Christmas” on repeat because he likes to hear the “drums kick in”. I told him I used to play the drums and got this: “No, you didn’t! Ladies don’t play drums. Ladies play bass.”
Gearing up to watch Emmett Otter’s Jugband Christmas. Mac: Can we please watch the movie? Me: As I mentioned the last three times you asked, we need to wait for Dad. This is really more for him. Please be patient. Mac: I’M PATIENT RIGHT NOW!!!! ✊
Mac: It says “Dear mom, I love you. Love, Cormac” My heart melted a little, especially since he usually reserves “I love you” for Yoda and the robot vacuum.... and no one else. Here’s hoping I start hearing it more... 🤣😂
At pickup as soon as he gets in the car: “I peed and pooped in the toilet at school! And I called someone stupid.” I’m going to consider this a wash. ❤️
Our ride home tonight. Listening to “Ave Maria” because he is suddenly into choir music, of all things. From the dark backseat of the car: Mac: I’m cute, by the way. Me: You are indeed an adorable human. Mac: I’m not adorable! You’re WAY off.
After a rough week of drop offs at school: Me: How can we make you feel better about going to school? Mac: Well you go to work and I can go to school to play with my friends. Me: That sounds awesome! Mac: It is! And Dad works with you. He sits in your lap and works. While it’s true that Miah and I work from home for the same company, we don’t work quite that closely together. 🤣😂
