Mac Chats

  Got our hair did and a knock-off My Little Pony from the local grocery. It’s a good day.  Me: What’s your pony’s name? Mac: Mom! She’s cute! ❤️❤️❤️

Me: When did you turn into a big kid?! Mac: Oh. At school, the teachers said “now you’re all big kids” and we said “yaaaaaay” and the teachers said “yay” back. And that’s how it happened.  ✅ Mac fact.

As Cormac says, “I’m three years ago TODAY!!” Thanks to all for your messages, cards, and calls. We had a wonderful day.  Stitches out at nine am with doctor approval for ONE birthday dunk in the hot tub.  A special invitation from the North End Fire Station for a private tour when COVID restrictions lift. (They took such good care of him before we got to the ER!) A special time with friends at school and his walk around the sun celebration.  Three has arrived and we’re all-in. ❤️

This is more of an entry for posterity although we did have some amazing conversations. We ended up with three stitches.  Mac was excited to ride in the ambulance with Mr Anthony and he was thrilled to be at the hospital. He was very brave, studied the suture book before getting his stitches, thanked the nurse for the numbing gel and used deep breathing to stay still through the stitches. He didn’t even cry although he asked if he would and I told him, “I don’t know”.  He charmed the staff with his musings and commentary, thanked everyone, and even got a Captain Phasma and Stormtrooper figure.  Doctor Roe told me Mac was the bravest little person he’s ever seen get stitches and he couldn’t believe his self control and cooperation. That’s our guy. ❤️

Say hello to “Spitty” and “Stink”. These are Cormac’s new friends. If he’s in a mood, a quick chat with these two usually turns it around. 🤷‍♀️

Mac: “I’m a bad guy! I fight people!” Me: I know you like to pretend to be a bad guy but I think you’re kind and good.  Mac: I don’t PRETEND. I AM a bad guy. But I give hugs. Do bad guys give hugs? I do.
