Wake up! (Bedroom door slams open dramatically while I’m getting ready in the bathroom. The kid stomps into the bathroom) Mac: Mom, why weren’t you in your bed? Me: I’m volunteering today. To try to help other people. I need to be ready early.  Mac: I need YOU to help ME at home.  Me: Yes, I will do that too. How can I help you right now? Mac: I don’t need your help.  Exasperatingly adorable.

At dinner tonight.  Me: So how was your day at school? Mac: (with mouth full) I can’t answer you. My mouth is full.  Me: 🤦‍♀️ New nickname: Captain Loophole

Ice cream treats for rocking the barber experience on this cold, windy day.  “Mom! Come see the back!! It’s high and tight!” Indeed it is.  #hairlingo #mactivities #looksgoodbuddy

While watching ET for a Friday dinner-and-movie event, Mac notices the following: Mac: They put their car in the HOUSE? Me: No, that’s a garage.  Mac: We have a garage... Me:  Right. Some people actually keep their cars in the garage, which is what they are for. We, sadly, do not.

Deep thoughts at bedtime: “When I was a little baby, I drove a little car. And then mommy pushed me out of her belly out of her pipes and I came out all alone. And I was a baby.” I’m going to assume the human life cycle was covered at school.
